Welcome to Connecticut Fitness And Nutrition Clubs In Motion - A 4-H Afterschool Program

The Connecticut Fitness And Nutrition Clubs In Motion (CT FANs IM) is a 4-H STEM afterschool and summer wraparound program and integrated research project, serving third and fourth graders, through education on nutrition, fitness and gardening, and is designed to reduce obesity rates in children ages 9 to 14, through sustainable interventions surrounding food and fitness.

The program is a partnership grant of the University of Connecticut College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources, Department of Extension.
CT FANs IM, is supported through a five-year 2.5 million dollar NIFA grant (USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture). The local 4-H connection is vital to the sustainability of the material, as the program is presented in collaboration with area 4-H clubs.

CT FANs IM, was modeled after the original 4-H FANs Fitness and Nutrition Clubs, a USDA Children, Youth and Families at Risk (CYFAR) Program.
